There is no benefit to using a fuel stabilizer if you add a significant amount of fresh fuel at least every 3-4 months (say 1/3 tank). I do add stabilizer to motorcycle and other small engine tanks (and fuel jugs) in the fall because that fuel may be in those tanks up to 6 months, depending. Mar 19, 2010. #6. All of the Shell grades of gas have the Nitrogen blended cleaning system. I think the 87 has twice as much and the V-Power has 5X as much as other gasolines. My truck only calls for 87 but once in a while I run it low and fill up on V-Power and run it all the way down to about a quarter tank left and then re-fill with 87.
