Member. Posts. 68. Aug 7, 2009. #1. Got a 95 300TDI and today filling it up realised I was at a pump only supplying V Power diesel instead of £102.9 per L for ordinary diesel this was 109.9. Anybody use it on a similar engine and what are the benefits or problems you get for the extra cost. Regards Pete.

Shell Diesel has made no difference neither has the V power diesel put in at least 5 times in the 15,000 miles done. Symptoms were black smoke and serious turbo lag, was boosting hard around 2.5k rather than normally where it was smoother from 2-3k rpm. Cleaning the EGR has done the trick no smoke.

There is no benefit to using a fuel stabilizer if you add a significant amount of fresh fuel at least every 3-4 months (say 1/3 tank). I do add stabilizer to motorcycle and other small engine tanks (and fuel jugs) in the fall because that fuel may be in those tanks up to 6 months, depending. Mar 19, 2010. #6. All of the Shell grades of gas have the Nitrogen blended cleaning system. I think the 87 has twice as much and the V-Power has 5X as much as other gasolines. My truck only calls for 87 but once in a while I run it low and fill up on V-Power and run it all the way down to about a quarter tank left and then re-fill with 87. nfrUP.
