Writing great liquid involves a lot of digging for samples and getting to grips with writing jazz melody/harmony so those are good places to start. Getting good atmospheric sounds and where to cut/boost samples. Melodies are somewhat natural for me, but I can't get good sounds themselves. Doubleclick Breaks Packs are amazing, but hard to find
Another way to play with the transients of breaks is slicing by transient and using AHDSR envelopes in a sampler, really powerful control over the details this way.. can always use a transient shaper later on in the chain then too. Nice one :D. This is a really good tutorial.
